My Itinerary Suggestions in Pays d'Auge
– OPTION 1 : Black + Red routes.
Of course, you can opt just for one route if you don’t have much time or according to your interests.
With the Black Route, you will discover some famous seaside resorts of the Floral Coast : Honfleur, Trouville, Deauville. And also a cider distillery (Apreval) and a typical Norman village in the countryside (Beaumont en Auge).
With the Red Route, you will follow the Cider Route and visit nice little villages, see charming small churches and stop to local distilleries.
- From Honfleur to Beaumont en Auge (black route) + the Cider Route (red route).
Recommended duration : 4 full days.
– Day 1 : full day in Honfleur (lunch and dinner) + 1 night in Honfleur or surroundings.
– Day 2 : Optional stop to Apreval cider distillery + Trouville + Deauville (lunch in one city and dinner in the other) + 1 night in Deauville or Trouville or the surroundings.
– Day 3 : Beaumont en Auge (visit + optional 2-hour hike + lunch) + beginning of the cider route + 1 night along the cider route.
– Day 4 : End of the Cider Route.
– OPTION 2 : Blue route.
This is the itinerary to discover some of the « other towns » of the Pays d’Auge located inland, a superb distillery in a listed castle, beautiful castles and a cheese dairy.
- From Honfleur to Livarot.
Recommended duration : 2 full days.
– Day 1 : Leave Honfleur (or add an extra day to visit Honfleur) towards Pont l’Evêque : visit the town and have lunch + visit Chateau du Breuil distillery + Château and gardens of Boutemont castle in Ouilly le Vicomte + dinner and overnight in Lisieux.
– Day 2 : Visit Sainte-Thérèse Basilica in Lisieux and have lunch or picnic in the countryside + visit the gardens of the castle of Saint-Germain de Livet in the early afternoon + visit Graindorge cheese dairy in Livarot.
– OPTION 3 : Green route.
This itinerary will make you discover a cheese dairy, a typical private Norman manor house (from outside), the medieval heritage of Saint-Pierre-sur Dives, the beautiful gardens of Canon castle and a unique former fortified castle dating from the 11th and 12th centuries.
- From Livarot to Crèvecoeur-en-Auge.
Recommended duration : 2 full days.
– Day 1 : visit of Graindorge cheese dairy + lunch in Livarot + a glance at the manor of Coupesarte + visit of Saint Pierre sur Dives + overnight in the area.
– Day 2 : visit of the gardens of Canon and lunch in town or in Crévecoeur en Auge + visit of Crèvecoeur en Auge castle.
