Saint-Germain de Livet Castle and its gardens
Since June 24, 2022, the interior of the castle has been temporarily closed to the public due to renovation work. Only the gardens can be visited (for free).

The Castle of Saint-Germain de Livet is the most typical castle of the Norman architecture :
It’s nicknamed the « Jewel of the Pays d’Auge » and its gardens are really worth a visit.

- Open from April 1st to the first weekend of November.
– From Tuesday to Sunday 10:30am-12:30pm / 2pm-6pm. - The visit of the gardens is free of charge. A guided tour in French and in English presenting the history and the architecture of the castle is offered (free of charge) during the closing of the castle at certain dates.
This superb small castle is surrounded by moats and is representative of the local architecture of the 15th and 16th centuries :
You will see a half-timbered manor and a residence in glazed brick and stone.
– A true masterpiece dating from the 15th and 16th centuries that really worth a visit even from the exterior.
– Beautiful and very well maintained park with peacocks that walk freely and let themselves be approached.
– A small castle worthy of a fairy tale !
Tea-room, creperie and guest house the "Manor of Livet"
Take the opportunity before or after the visit of the castle to have a tea or a coffee and a pancake at « Les 3 Gourmands du château » at the Manor of Livet.
This lovely tea room-crêperie overlooks the castle of Saint Germain de Livet : a very charming place !
- Open from mid-April to mid October everyday except Monday, from 12pm to 6:30pm.
- And if you like nature, peace and the authenticity of a historic place I advise you to spend the night in this manor which offers (only) one double guest room full of charm in an exceptional setting !
