One of my favorite restaurant in Bayeux for the beautiful and unique setting along the river and the good food.

– A creperie along the Aure river : have lunch or dinner in an exceptional setting : in the middle ages, the place used to be an oil and flour mill. The wheel still turns !
– Generous home-made cuisine, fresh and local products.
– Delicious traditional galettes (buckwheat pancakes), revisited burgers, sweet pancakes and many other dishes to discover.
– As the Moulin de la Galette is extremely popular and frequented both by locals and tourits, it is essential to reserve your table (by phone only ) : give a call during opening hours.

2- Chez Paulette

Restaurant and tea room like grandma’s ! Close to the cathedral and opposite the MAHB museum. Eat in a 70s decor with lots of period objects : well worth a visit when you are in Bayeux.

– A good homemade family cuisine (bagels, quiches, salads, desserts…) in a very kitsch and quirky decor. Adorable ! If you were born in the 70s, the decor will make you relive childhood memories…

3- Le Bouchon - Cave & Bistrot

A wine and spirits cellar and a bistro restaurant for lunch : eat around the counter (10 seats) or in the kitchen area !

A good brasserie (and also a hotel – La Reine Mathilde) located in the city center next to Place de Quebec the departure point for group tours.

My favorite one : « Pizza duo »: it’s a panache of 2 recipes combined on the same pizza !

Very good pizzas in a simple setting. Close to the cathedral.

Excellent fresh pizzas in a friendly bar !

1- Coeur de Sushi

Japonese gastronomy : sushis, raw and cooked dishes. Eat in and takeaway. EXCELLENT !

A delicious Ukrainian and Georgian restaurant that could open thanks to a beautiful human adventure.

– Svetlana Sidiani is the head chef of this restaurant that opened in 2023 : she fled the war twice (Georgia and Ukraine). The manager who employs war refugees decided to create this restaurant with Svetlana who was a Chef in Ukraine.
– Dishes are typical from Georgia and Ukraine with fresh products from the Bayeux region.
– Tables outside on sunny days (there is a very nice and quiet terrace at the back).
– Breakfast is also available.
– Come and discover this beautiful place symbol of hope and mutual help : the food is tasty and it’s a very good value for money !

1- Gourmandise et Tradition (open Sunday lunchtime)

Delicious traditional and modern cuisine in this small restaurant run by two talented young people.

– A single word : delicious ! But still : surprising, dishes of great finesse and all with a very warm welcome.
– Fresh local ingredients and dishes prepared on demand which explains the limited choice of menus (which is a good point to my mind !)

2- Le P'tit Resto

An excellent semi-gastronomic small restaurant which is a very good value for money.

A very good refined restaurant in a nice and sober decoration and a good value for money !

4- La Rapière

A gourmet restaurant in an intimate dining room dating from the 16th century offering a gourmet cuisine made with quality and seasonal products.
