MY 4 TOP TIPS
Especially if you go to the Mont-Saint-Michel with your own vehicle
TIP #1
When is the best time of day to visit the Mont ?
Since the Mount is very touristic and often very crowded during spring and summer, I advise you to visit it either very early in the morning (arrive there at about 8:30am / depart from Bayeux at 7am) or in the evening (and why not stay for the night).
TIP #2
For a visit in the evening
In July and August (a peak period), for your comfort, I advise you to visit the Mont at the end of the day : the parking rate is reduced from 7pm and the abbey is open until midnight for the « Chronicles of the Mount Night Show » : every evening except on Sundays : a 1-hour guided stroll with headsets, entrance between 7:30pm-11pm / Abbey closes at midnight.

PLEASE NOTE : The night-show ticket does not include the visit of the abbey during the daytime and vice versa.
TIP #3
Abbey tickets (for day visits)
Buy a skip-the-line ticket online to avoid standing in line. You must choose your visit date and time slot.

IMPORTANT : Don’t forget to anticipate the transfer time between the car parks and the entrance of the abbey
(45 min-1 hour) : shuttle bus (that may be crowded) + walking time to reach the abbey at the top of the rock (many stairs to climb). I advise you to plan the visit of the abbey well after your arrival on the car park so that you are not stressed to miss your time slot. You can first quietly visit the village, have lunch and then visit the abbey.
TIP #4
Spend the night in a hotel on the Mont St Michel
The best option is a room overlooking the bay (but if it doesn’t, it will be great all the same). It’s a magical moment that you will never forget ! Trust me since I did it a few years ago. In the evening, you’ll have the Mount almost to yourself !
